The first Old World Mountain Bike Championship for classic pre-1996 MTB's was held in Bergen, north Holland over the weekend of 4/5th September. Based on the early Californian fat tire festivals, the event included a wide range of activities to show the collection of cherished and classic bikes at their best!
The overall champion was Freider Meier from Dresden in Germany, riding his 1990 Brave Racer. He successfully completed a Dutch boxbike trail (with partner Marci Chrobak from Poland) and rode two superfast laps of the suprisingly rolling and beautiful Schoorl XC track.
